30 09 10 | | Mole Architects have been declared winner of the RIBA Spirit of Ingenuity Award: Sustainability for Cavendish House, Cambridge. The project also received a Commendation in the Residential category.
The awards were presented at the RIBA East Regional Awards Dinner and Ceremony at Downing College, Cambridge. Sponsored by Solar Cube, the Sustainability Award recognises excellence in performance as well as design. The Jury commented: "This house with its near Passivhaus qualities is constructed of solid timber wall and floor panels...the energy consumption for space heating is within the PH criteria and the total energy used is well below PH standards...a model of design and technology for others to follow"
Cavendish House has now won a total of three awards; with wins in City, Regional and National Awards. |
